Windows 10 support ending - is Windows 11 replacing it?

Microsoft has surprised users and experts alike by revealing that it will end support for Windows 10 in 2025, despite previously stating it would continue to support the operating system (OS) indefinitely.The move was taken by many as a strong indication that the company would soon announce a new OS to replace Windows 10. It was expected to break this news on 24 June (after we went to press), with some industry analysts predicting the arrival of Windows 11. In mid-June the company updated the 'Lifecycle' page for Windows 10 Home and Pro showing a 'Retirement Date' of 14 October, 2025. It's the first time Microsoft has given an end date for Windows 10. Until now, the page was used only to give end dates for different versions of the operating system - such as version 1909, which ends on 5 November, 2021.When Microsoft launched Windows 10 in July 2015, it described the system as "Windows as a service",saying it would be gradually updated without charge. Under this strategy, Microsoft has released Feature updates for the system twice a year - one in the spring, one in autumn.
