Not poorer after Richer Sounds' great Humax service

Here's a sad tale of my attempt to connect a Humax Aura Freeview box (pictured), which I bought from Richer Sounds, to a Samsung 55in 7400 TV. I got no automatic setup response, then complete failure following a firmware upgrade. Richer Sounds told me the box was faulty, replacing it the next day. But the problem recurred. I had a long chat with Samsung, who checked everything - TV, HDMI leads, Freeview reception etc. Richer Sounds suggested I replace it with the cheaper 5000T Humax box. This time it worked, though the interface is clunky compared with Sky Q, and the apps are useless.
