Create an automatic photo slideshow on Chromecast

If you have a Google Chromecast plugged into your TV, you can use it for much more than just streaming programmes and films. In this Workshop, we'll show you how to access its hidden Ambient mode, which lets you display a slideshow from your Google Photos library when you're not casting anything. You don't even need the latest 'Chromecast with Google TV' version of the device to use this feature - it works on all previous versions, including on the original Chromecast (released in 2013) we'll be using here.
