BT to fly drones that share airspace with planes

BT is leading a group of companies working to establish the UK's first commercial 'drone corridor', in which unmanned aerial vehicles will share the same airspace as aeroplanes. Project XCelerate, backed by £125m from the Government as part of its Fund Future Flight Challenge, will see drones flown along a five-mile flight path south of Reading, Berkshire. The aim is to fly drones out of sight of the person controlling them, something which is currently illegal.
