Q I decided to create a newsletter for members of my local bridge club, to help us all feel in touch while we're apart. For the first issue, I want to include a roll call of members, which numbers over 40 and growing. I requested members to email me their photos and many did. I then spent lots of time inserting these photos in a Word document, and making it all look neat. This process took me a few days but by the end it all looked good, and I wanted to email the document to the members. However, it was then that I realised the file size was 35MB, which is too big for my email system. Someone said I could ZIP the file to make it smaller, but I really wanted to email a document people can just open and read. Someone else suggested I use the option to print the document as a PDF, but this resulted in a 68MB file! Why would it be bigger than the original? Is there a straightforward way to make the document smaller without having to do all my work over? I use Windows 10 with Word 2016, incidentally.
