Create an online pinboard for your club

You can't beat a traditional cork pinboard on which to post club notices and articles of interest. Well, actually, you can: an online pinboard. And that's exactly what Padlet provides. With refreshingly little in the way of gimmicks, it lets you (and your members, if you wish) post links, photos, videos and much more. Create a new board First, create a free Padlet account at www.padlet.com. Free accounts let you create up to three boards (with a paid-for account, starting at £10 per month, you can create unlimited boards). Select 'Make A Padlet' (top left), then choose a style for your board. Options include Map (this lets you place pins on a world map) and Backchannel (a conversation-style format, similar to text messages on a phone). In this example we'll stick to Wall, which is a simple, pinboard-style format. Before posting anything to your new board, click the Settings button (the small cog, top right), and give your board a name and description - this will appear at the top left of the board. Further down the settings, you can change the background (click Wallpaper, then choose pne of the preset images or upload your own), set the colour scheme and choose a different font. If you want all posts to display their author, turn the Attribution setting on.
