Facebook: our Coronavirus app won't collect your personal data

Facebook has insisted that its new survey for recording Coronavirus symptoms won't collect any data that can identify patients. It has launched a voluntary survey on its site that asks whether you've had any symptoms of the disease, such as a persistent dry cough, loss of smell or a fever. The results will be shared with researchers at Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) in Pittsburgh who will track the spread of the disease, and estimate how many intensive care admissions are likely in specific areas.
