Virgin's massive customer breach 'linked users to porn'

Virgin Media has admitted that some of the customer details leaked online may have contained info about porn, gambling and extreme-violence sites people had visited. In early March the company revealed that one of its "marketing databases" containing the details of 900,000 customers had been freely available on the internet for 10 months, and had been accessed at least once by an unknown user. At the time it claimed the database contained phone numbers, home addresses and emails, but nothing else. But researchers at TurgenSec, the London firm that found the database, said it contained more than 1,100 records of customer requests to block or unblock certain websites, some of which were sexually explicit or glorified violence.
