How can I connect my PC and printer over Wi-Fi?

Q I'm looking for a new printer, and I notice most are now wireless. My desktop PC doesn't have Wi-Fi, so I use an Ethernet cable to connect it to my TalkTalk router. Could I get a Wi-Fi dongle for the PC and set it up just to access the printer, while keeping the Ethernet connection to the internet?
