Councils must pay millions for Windows 10 upgrade

Councils across the UK are being forced to pay millions of pounds to upgrade their ageing computers to Windows 10 ahead of Microsoft ending security support for Windows 7 next January. If they fail to upgrade by then, they'll have to pay Microsoft to continue providing security updates. This starts at $50 (£38) per machine, per year, for up to three years. The fee will double every year.
