Govt to regulate web to punish sites for 'online harms'

Websites could be fined, 'named and shamed' or even removed from search results if they fail to tackle "online harms" such as child abuse and terrorist propaganda, under plans outlined by the Government. The Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) has recommended that an independent watchdog should set up a code of practice for tech companies to follow.
