The UK has shown evidence to the EU claiming to prove that hackers backed by the Chinese government have attacked Western companies, prompting officials in Brussels to consider retaliation. Sources at the meeting at the end of January said the UK Government accused the hacking group Advanced Persistent Threat 10 (APT 10) of targeting companies in construction and engineering, aerospace, and telecoms in a bid to steal military and intelligence secrets.
