Toshiba has earned a reputation recently for making good bargain laptops, like the £200 Satellite C40-C (see our review, Issue 463). Its business laptops remain much more expensive, but at under £1,200 and with a powerful Intel i5 processor, the X30-D-10V isn't outrageously pricey, and the way it's put together will make it appealing to home users.The current buzzword in light laptops is bezels, or rather the lack of them. Huawei's MateBook X Pro made a splash at the recent Mobile World Congress trade show in Barcelona with such a narrow border around its screen that there's nowhere to fit a webcam, which instead pops up from one of the function keys. Like Dell's Infinity Edge design, this is fine if you want whoever you're Skyping to be looking right up your nose.
