UK spies will use cutting-edge quantum computing to help catch terrorists, the Government has said.It will form part of a more technologically advanced approach to counter-terrorism that will also involve maximising the potential of machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI).A conventional computer can only process data in one of two states - a 1 or 0. But quantum computers take advantage of how subatomic particles exist in more than one state at any time, letting them process data in both states simultaneously. It makes them much faster and more energy-efficient.
