Q: I have many old Microsoft Works (WPS) files that I can no longer open in Word 2013. I can access my files and print paper copies with Word Viewer, so all is not lost, but I can't do anything else with them. When I try to edit them I get a most unhelpful error message that says "something went wrong", along with a suggestion to try reinstalling Word. I've tried that but it doesn't work. I'm using Windows 10 on my laptop. I have found software online that claims to convert these files but I'm reluctant to try it without advice. So what do you say?
