GUEST EDITORIAL: MARCO SOMALVICO MEMORIAL ISSUE

This special issue, of which a first installment appears alongside a regular section in the physical printed issue you have in your hands, pays tribute to the memory of Marco Somalvico, one of the two scholars who introduced artificial intelligence (AI) to Italian academia. The memorial issue hosted by Computational Intelligence is the result of a coordinated effort and is part of a broader initiative encompassing several journals that each devoted to him a full single or double special issue. Every different journal issue has its own specific profile. This first installment of the memorial issue the way it appears in Computational Intelligence only includes two articles (a second installment is projected). Let us consider the two articles in turn.
