The Attraction: Miami in 2010

As if the ambience and flair for style of Miami and Miami Beach aren't enough to attract those who might attend the 2010 AIA Convention there, the Miami AIA Chapter plans to install a booth at the 2009 convention in San Francisco-a free-standing structure that conventioneers won't be able to ignore-extolling the virtues of this modern South Florida city. To come up with an appropriate design, the Miami Bienal, in conjunction with the Miami Chapter of the American Institute of Architects, organized a one-stage student design competition. This was not just about ideas; the intention is to build the winning design in time for San Antonio.
