Pittsburgh's Ambitious Plan

Developers and architects do not always share the same goals. A recent competition in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, conducted by the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, sought to bring innovative designers and sophisticated developers together to build a dense, mixed-use district that would add to the growing activity in the central city. The selected design, a dynamic proposal by a team led by Behnisch Architekten, of Stuttgart, Germany with Concord Eastridge of Washington, D.C. as the developer, validates the competition formula and the vision and ambition of the Trust.
