"Communication Yearbook 32", edited by Christina S. Beck in 2008, emanates from The International Communication Association (ICA) and is published by Routledge, both establishments vouching for (communication) research at the highest level.rnThe yearbook includes nine chapters by scholars from the United States, Australia and the Netherlands, thus, in general, departing from Anglo-Saxon traditions. The chapters present research reviews and overviews of a variety of topics within communication, reflecting the diversity and multitude of traditions, theoretical approaches, sub-genres and themes of this field, which is - one could argue - precisely the purpose of this sort of publication. Consequently, the yearbook appears somewhat heterogeneous, inviting to a more selective, but no less rewarding reading.
