Every once in a while, a book emerges that fills a long-empty space on the reference shelf. Poindexter, Meraz and Weiss's hefty edited volume Women, Men and News has been that book for me. The editors intended the book's 18 chapters to address the gender disparities in the world of news, and they do that so well and in so many different ways that they guarantee the book a special place forever in feminist journalism scholarship.
