We construct an example of a smooth map ? a??? 2 which vanishes to infinite order at the origin, and such that the ratio of the norm of the derivative to the norm of the z derivative also vanishes to infinite order. This gives a counterexample to strong unique continuation for a vector valued analogue of the Beltrami equation.View full textDownload full textKeywordsElliptic systems of partial differential equations, Unique continuation2000 Mathematics Subject ClassificationPrimary 35A02, Secondary 30G20, 32W50, 35J46Related var addthis_config = { ui_cobrand: "Taylor & Francis Online", services_compact: "citeulike, netvibes, twitter, technorati, delicious, linkedin, facebook, stumbleupon, digg, google, more", pubid: "ra-4dff56cd6bb1830b" }; var addthis_config = {"data_track_addressbar":true,"ui_click":true}; Add to shortlist Link Permalink http://dx.doi.org/10.1080/03605302.2012.668259
