A characteristic-ALE formulation for a fluid-membrane interaction problem

We study the non-stationary interaction between a viscous fluid and a membrane. A time discretization scheme, based on the characteristic-ALE method, is presented and its stability, from the point of view of energy conservation, is studied. A space and time discretization of the fluid-membrane problem is presented.
