PARADIGM SHIFTS: RECALLING THE EARLY ICA AND THE LATER PHILCOM

摘要

The systems of thought operating in the Philosophy of Communication Division of the International Communication Association are explicated. Kant's philosophy of logic is used to define the analytic / synthetic distinction as the metaphysical foundation of Modernity. The methodological ground of Postmodernity is a critique of positivism using Kant's logic and C. S. Peirce's semiotic phenomenology of Abduction, Deduction, Induction, and Adduction. The analysis deals the philosophical ground for the Human Science of Communicology.
