Europe needs single rulebook to fight money laundering

THE European Banking Authority (EBA) is urgingthe EU Commission to establish a single rulebook onfighting money laundering and terrorist financing.EBA was responding to the European Commission’srecent call for advice on how to strengthen the EUlegal framework on anti-money laundering andcountering the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT).In its advice, the EBA sets out how the EU legalframework should be strengthened to tacklevulnerabilities linked to divergent national approachesand gaps in the EU defences against money launderingand terrorist financing (ML/TF).
