One of the key control characteristics of cloud computing is its shared nature under which the technology functions whereby an organization's applications may be sharing the same hardware in many locations and databases with many other client organizations. This is even the case with the so-called "internal" company clouds where applications from various departments or jurisdictions with different governance and service level requirements may operate in a sharing environment.
