These dyes are the ones having the highest fastness properties to washing, light, rubbing, etc. We saw the advantages and disadvantages of the azoic group of dyes in the last article. The vats are supposed to answer all the problems faced by the dyers, but it has its own limits. For instance, brilliancy of shades as with reactives on basic dyes are not possible with vat dyes. Therefore, dyers use them very selectively, depending on the end use requirements of the customers. Where the fastness is of the highest standards and the shades can be matched in vat, the dyeinqs are carried out with these class of dyes.
