Anti smell finishing uses the capacity of cyclodextrines to trap smelling substances in their hollow spaces. Cyclodextrines are cyclic oligosachharides manufactured by enzymatic degradation of starch. The enzymes used are called cyclodextrine β-glycosyl transferases. They produce from starch a mixture of α-cyclodextrines, β-cyclodextrines and γ-cyclodextrines ie rings with 6,7 and 8 glucose units.
