Basf has developed a powdered thickener for pigment printing, utexal GP ECO. According to the company, the thickener ensures particularly good contour definition, good running properties, and brighter, more brilliant hues. The product also reduces print penetration, so that less print paste is consumed, and the high stability to electrolytes keeps viscosity fluctuations to a minimum. The microgranutated thickener also produces lower emission values than conventional liquid thickeners, making the product environmentally friendly.
