Spotlight on Fabric Batch Rope Dyeing Machines Part Ⅱ - Airjet Dyeing Machines

Part Ⅰ of this 'spotlight on machinery' series of articles was on jet dyeing machines. This part deals with HT Airflow or Airjet machines for batchwise dyeing of fabric in rope form. The aerodynamic system for dyeing in these machines makes use of a stream of air or gas for transport of goods in place of a stream of liquor in conventional jet dyeing machines. Hence these machines are also called as air transport dyeing machines in both HT and atmospheric versions. With the arrival of these novel and revolutionary machines, dyeing has become faster with improvements in ecology and economy. The M:L ratios of dyeing have sharply come down to 1:1 to 1:4 levels, almost half or less than half of the traditional jet dyeing machines, with savings in water, dyes, chemicals, energy and time. Besides higher productivity, these machines have higher rope speeds.
