摘要

The original work presented in this paper was undertaken from the viewpoint of studying the ability of thiazole derivatives for dyeing of polyester and/or cellulose acetate fabrics. The newly synthesized thiazole derivatives, obtained according to the process described in the experimental section were applied to the fabric by the exhaustion method. The properties of dyed fabric such as colour strength ; washing fastness; perspiration fastness light fastness ; chlorine fastness and rubbing fastness were found to depend upon the following: (a) the nature of the dyestuffs (thiazole derivatives containing one or more chlorine atom possess much higher fastness than those containing a methyl group) (b) the nature of fabric which indicated better fastness properties in case of polyester than in case of cellulose acetate.
