Washing Printed Fabrics is the next most important process in the printing of silk. This step removes excess of unfixed dye, chemicals and thickeners, to give a clean and supple fabric, which enhances the beauty of the prints and gives clear whites in the unprinted portions. The major sources of faults in this process are. 1) Mechanical damage to the fibre 2) Staining or marking off.
