摘要

The last installment was on the use of a liquid barrier system in production. This final part on the use of barrier systems to reduce sodium hydrosulphite requirements in continuous pad-steam vat dyeing is on using solid floats as the barrier system. Hollow polyolefin balls were introduced and established in continuous vat dyeing at Century Mills, which resulted in reducing the hydrosulphite consumption by at least 20% with economic and ecological benefits to this Company. Sci-Tech 60 deliberates on this important development work successfully carried out by the author and his R & D team at Century Mills which was subsequently patented.
