Generally, disperse dyes became fuse or sublimate instead of decomposing when heated to the temperature of 150° - 230°, that is, they become easily gasified from the solid state in the heated dry air. The sublimation property is concerned to the polarity of the substituting group. To the dyestuff making, disperse dyes with different sublimation fastness for different use can be made according to various requirements. The polyester and acetate fibers that are dyed by disperse dyes may have fastness problems in the heat setting process or other after-finish processes, which is because of the poor sublimation fastness or dry heat fastness.
