Processing of Knit Fabrics - Ⅵ: Finishing of Knit Fabrics

Finishing, the final step of chemical processing of textiles is carried out to improve the aesthetic and functional appeal of the ready to use garments. The finishing of knit fabrics is normally resorted to with a combination of chemical and mechanical processes. In the conventional finishing process the chemical auxiliaries are applied either by exhaust method in the soft flow machine or by padding technique on pin-stenter for open-width fabrics. The mechanical finishing processes are carried out in tumble driers, calenders, compactors, raising, sueding and brushing machines.
