Reactive dyes based on 4, 4'-methylene bis-(2,3-dichloro aniline): Their synthesis, characterization and application

Various cold brand bis azo reactive dyes have been synthesized by coupling tetrazotized 4,4'-methylene bis-(2,3-dichloro aniline) using various cyanurated coupling components and their dyeing performance has been assessed on silk, wool and cotton fibres. The purity of the dyes was checked by TLC. The IR spectra showed all characteristic bands and the representative dyes PMR spectra showed all the signals. The percentage dye bath exhaustion on different fibres was reasonably good and acceptable. The dyed fibres showed moderate to very good fastness to light, washing and rubbing.
