Textiles ministry has come up with a unique opportunity for graduates from nift, nid and other fine arts institutes to hone their skills at handicrafts clusters across the country, with the end objective of injecting fresh ideas and designs into the industry. Under the design mentorship activation programme (dmap) launched recently week, fresh graduates would be trained in handicraft clusters like moradabad, jodhpur and saharanpur for a period of six months. "design map aims to provide design students with industry exposure and professional development of apprentice designers," an official in the development commissioner (handicrafts) said.
