Training programme for unskilled textile workers in Surat

The Powerloom Service Centre (PSC) has begun a 20-day training programme for unskilled textile workers in Surat, home to India's biggest man-made fibre (MMF) industry. The training programme has been launched under the 'Integrated Skill Development Scheme for the Textile and Apparel Sector' of the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, in view of the acute shortage of skilled workforce faced by Surat's powerloom sector.
