Dyeing with Single Stage Dyeing (SSD) method

Under this method, both dyeing and scouring was carried out in unison, at the same time. A low concentration (0.05 - 0.2%) of the non-ionic surfactant (Material mass: Liquor ratio taken as 1:30) was added to the dye in aqueous solution and the grey cotton fabric was dipped in a dye solution prepared using 1% (o.w.m.) of the dye at 1:30 material to liquor ratio in tap water and set in launder-o-meter for 10 minutes at 50 °C temperature. Glauber salt (40 g/1) was added to the liquor and dyeing was continued till the temperature reached 85 °C. Tri sodium phosphate (15 g/1) was then added and dyeing was further carried out for 45 minutes at a temperature of 85 °C.
