When the first news reports of REACh came in many years ago, there were quite a few of us who actually wondered how it would really impact our industry, and whether the underlying rules would truly be implemented in a stringent manner. If reports in the recent past are to be believed, a serious note has indeed been taken of it, and many undertakings have learnt it the hard way. Some of the reported non-compliances were quite alarming given that they flouted some of the very basic tenets of the legislation, which one would have thought to be addressed many years ago.
