Invista, one of the world's largest integrated producer of polymers and fibers, announced the start-up of a new production line in Tuas, Singapore, designed specifically to produce a series of specialty Lycra fiber products to serve the growing innovation needs of the Asian region. The new production line will initially focus on production of Easy Set Lycra fiber, a specialty type of Lycra fiber with improved heat set efficiency and is targeted for use with sensitive fibers, such as silk or cellulosics, as well as for use with moulded applications such as bra cups. By heating these fabrics at a lower temperature, the risk of thermal degradation reduces as well as the fabric yellowing under the heat.
