摘要

An investigation of modification of polyester cotton blended weft knitted fabrics produced from ring spun yarn by alkaline hydrolysis on their low stress mechanical and thermal properties is reported in this paper. Major changes in the low stress mechanical properties of the treated fabrics were noticed. Among the properties most affected were tensile, shear, bending, and compression. Surprisingly alkaline hydrolysis treatment had led to an increase in surface roughness. The thermal properties were also found to exhibit a good handle by the alkaline hydrolysis treatment.
