National Project Bxpo2016 on textiles and apparels

KCT-TIFAC CORE in Textile Technology & Machinery jointly with Department of Fashion Technology organized "NATIONAL PROJECT EXPO2016 ON TEXTILES AND APPARELS"on 28 March 2016 at Kumaraguru College of Technology, Coimbatore. About 40 students from various institutions such as Park College of Engineering and Technology, Angel College of Engineering and Technology,Bharathiar University and Kumaraguru College of Technology participated in the "NATIONAL PROJECT EXPO2016 ON TEXTILES AND APPARELS" held on 28.03.2016. Dr R Ramachandran, Associate Professor, Department of Fashion Technology, PSG College of Technology was the Guest for the event. In his address he stressed the importance of participating in this kind of competitions and told that it will help the students to improve the quality of project besides helping for placemnts in reputed companies. Dr J Srinivasan, HOD-Fashion Technology, delivered the presidential address. Dr G Ramakrishnan, Coordinator, KCT-TIFAC CORE gave a warm welcome to all participants and highlighted about the programme and facilities established at KCT-TIFAC CORE. Dr R Ramachandran, Dr G Rajkumar, Asst.Prof, Fashion Technology and Dr G Ramakrishnan,Coordinator,KCT-TIFAC CORE were the panel members who evaluated the students project presentation.As many as 18 teams presented their projects and Best projects were selected. Some of the projects presented include Fabrication of fibre extraction machine for stem fiber(peagion fibre), Packaging Materials from Sisal fibre composites, Development of protective garments, Development of anti microbial surgical coat using vetivera, Natural super absorbent polymers from agro waste etc.
