China based Actife produces textiles that kill bacteria and viruses

STRENGTHENING the fight against Covid-19, ACTife has produced textile materials which kill bacteria and viruses. These utilise semiconductor sputtering technology, which uses silver, copper and titanium sputtering to produce hydroxyl radicals on the surface of the fabric. Hydroxyl radicals destroy viruses and bacteria by making their proteins lose function. Therefore, the materials developed by ACTife can not only block viruses and bacteria, but also use hydroxyl radicals to prevent contact with bacteria and viruses while they are adsorbed on the surface of the fabric. This technology has been verified by the SGS, Boken, Intertek, and Japan SEK to effectively sterilise 99.9 per cent of bacteria and germs. The research team of Fu Jen Catholic University Taiwan published an anti-virus research report on ACTife's nano sputtered fabric and stated: "The fabric successfully blocked and absorbed the germs and bacteria on the cloth, which prevented secondary infection of the virus."
