摘要

The use of hemp fibers pulp as reinforcement in composite materials has increased in recent years as a response to the increasing demand for developing biodegradable, sustainable, and recyclable materials. Hemp fibers are found in the stem of the plant which makes them strong and stiff, a primary requirement for the reinforcement of composite materials. The mechanical properties of hemp fibers are comparable to those of glass fibers. Natural fibers-based composites are under intensive study due to their light weight, eco-friendly nature and unique properties. Due to the continuous supply, ease of handling, safety, natural fiber is considered as better alternative in replacing many structural and non-structural components. Hemp fiber pulp can be new source of raw material to the industries and can be potential replacement of the expensive and non-renewable synthetic fiber. Hemp pulp fiber as the filler material and epoxy as the matrix material by changing weight fraction of reinforcement. Composites were prepared using hand lay-up techniques by maintaining constant fiber and matrix volume fraction. The sample of the composites thus fabricated were subjected to tensile, impact test for finding the effect of hemp fiber pulp in different concentration.
