摘要

A new type of submerged breakwater with tapered form in horizontal plane, Tapered- Submerged Breakwater, is proposed to modify the wave propagation angle on its downwave side. Wave field around the new submerged breakwater is computed with a linear method which provides potential solutions for wave deformation problems over a submerged break- water with arbitrary planform. The validity of the potential solutions is verified by the experimental data. The wave angle modification is evaluated through the decomposition of the wave field in the surroundings of the breakwater. A large number of numerical ex- periments were conducted to deduce the appropriate configuration of the new submerged breakwater in wave angle modification.
