On October 1, 2001 Dynamic Resource Group (DRG) launched the Web site e-PatternsCentral.com, opening the door to a new era of publish-on demand in the craft and needlework markets. This Web site provides more than 1,000 crochet, cross-stitch, quilting, plastic canvas, and sewing patterns, with plans for the addition of knitting and tatting patterns in the future. The online consumer may choose any pattern, purchase it by credit card, and download it to their home computer within minutes. At a cost of about $3 each, the service represents the latest in customer service and encryption technology.
