During the holiday season, undoubtedly a customer will enter your store looking for the right gift for a friend, spouse or significant other. They bring with them a few ideas about their purchase: 1) they know the gift recipient likes to craft; 2) they don't want their gift selection to become complicated; 3) they have absolutely no idea what to buy. What would you recommend? How about a book on their craft? Books make great gifts and here's where you can shine with your customer by asking a few simple questions. What kind of crafts does the recipient create? Is your customer's recipient a beginner, intermediate or expert? You should be able to pick up on that by what may be a vague response about crafting habits, even if they don't know for sure how to define 'level of crafter'.
