Today, that core of purists is shrinking as enthusiasts discover how technology can enhance the quilting process by making it faster and more accurate. Advanced sewing machine technology and quilting-related computer software are expanding creative possibilities. Quilters now have more tools at their disposal to help in the design and embellishment process of every project. Designer-contributors to the Bernina Fashion Show, and the Fairfield Fashion Show before that, always have introduced us to what is possible in a quilted garment. Machine embroidery and machine interpretations of hand-worked heirloom techniques are now prevalent in that show.
