Headquartered in Atlanta, Plaid Enterprises was founded by David A. Cunningham in 1976 to bring a variety of how-to books and craft products to the creative marketplace. After building the company to a position as a leader in the craft industry, Cunningham retired and sold the business in 1989, Now Plaid is an important part of the holdings of DKM (Dyson Kissner Moran) of New York, Mike McCooey was brought in as president and CEO of Plaid in 1994. He currently serves on the CHA Board of Directors and is the VP of Trade Shows for that association.
