Yes, people are searching the Web more and more often for information that they once found only in books, but good tomes are still important sources of joy and information. In-store technology expert Joe Hesch believes, "Technology is great, but the richness of book photography and the portability of books makes them indispensable." He also believes that in the case of crafters, "People like how-to books so they can follow along at their computer." Much has been written about the importance of books over the years, but perhaps nothing as poignant for shopowners as English author John Ruskin's statement, "A book worth reading is a book worth buying."
